Summertime Date Night

Grant is one great wine lover. Back in 2019 I took him to a winery for a tasting, he was so happy but also asked me why I chose a vineyard when I don’t even drink, I replied saying “I did this for you, not for me.”

Last Thursday he told me about a nearby vineyard, Talon Winery, and asked me if I would want to go check it out, I said absolutely. We went there, had some wine samples, and the lady who served us would look at me puzzled and asked if I didn’t like any of the wine, with a smile on my lips I said “Oh, I don’t drink alcohol.”

Grant ended up liking two of out of the 6 samples he had (he actually had 12 samples lol, his and mine), he said they tasted amazing, we then bought a bottle of each. The lady who gave us the samples told us we can also walk through the vineyard. It was my very first time seeing grapes growing on vines in person and I was so excited.

When we were heading back home, we decided to go have dinner at Sage Rabbit, the restaurant we went to for our very first date. Y’all already know my husband likes shrimp, right? But this time around I was the one who ordered a dish with shrimp. I ordered shrimp risotto and Grant had tomato and sage gnocchi. His gnocchi were so delicious I almost swamped our plates 😅. Not saying my shrimp risotto was not good, it was very delicious 😋. We had chocolate pot de crème as desert, it came with a graham cracker and toasted marshmallow like s’mores, it was delightful.

After we left and were walking towards our car Grant jokingly told me “Careful, don’t fall!” If you’re wondering why he would say that, on our very first date when we were leaving the restaurant I tripped and fell all the way to the ground knees first. I still feel embarrassed up to this day, who falls on their very first date? Out of all the days 😫😫😫. Grant lifted me up and took me to my car, he still jokes saying I fell hard for him on the get go, he says he will tell the children about that😅.

We then headed back home and called it a night.
