Day At the Races at Keeneland

Today we went to Keeneland, the place where we first met. It was April 2019 when my girlfriends and I had brunch and then went to Keeneland afterwards. We arrived and had our drinks and then some of us started to bet on horses. After some of my friends won their bets, we had to go retrieve their money from one of the tellers.

While I was waiting for them to get done with the process of getting their money, Grant came by where I was standing and greeted me. He complimented me on the dress I had on and asked if I was having good time, he was very quiet, soft spoken and so sweet. I had spotted him walking from far away before he got to me and thought to myself that he was cute but then went on with my day not knowing he was going to come talk to me. He asked me if I came to Keeneland often and I said it was my first time, he then went on and ask for my phone number stating he would like to keep on talking to me if it was OK with me, and I went ahead and gave him my number.

Three years after we decided we want to go to where it all started. We got there and it was “Heroes Day”, where military/veterans and first responders get in for free and are treated to a free lunch from City Barbecue. We didn’t end up betting on any horses, but it felt so good to go back to where we first laid eyes on each other and enjoy the day.
